ICE and KISS

A couple of acronyms for the heading for this post.

KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. This was advice that Vodafone followed when they found that a lot of people over 35 did not use cell phones because they have too many bells and whistles. So they developed the Vodafone Simply and that is exactly what it is. There is an interesting article by Wall Street Journal writer, David Pringle, which explains the background to Vodafone's decision.
I wonder how long it will be before a Bermuda company gets the same message.

ICE is our other TLA for today. This is an idea that can be easily adopted in Bermuda and it is free! It stands for In Case of Emergency and is a very simple idea which started with a paramedic in the UK. Programme an entry in your cell phone with the number of somebody who should be contacted in case of emergency. Label that number as ICE. Then, if you are found in a car wreck and are unconcious, the paramedics can just look for ICE on your phone list and call them up.
