We nearly missed out on this one. That's the problem when interesting things happen on a beautiful summer Sunday when I would rather be out on the water.

The news is that Skype has now passed the '10 billion minutes served' mark. As pointed out in SkypeJournal, that is 272 lifetimes (as specified in the Christian Bible!) or nearly 167 million episodes of The Young and the Restless.
To go back in time by over 10 billion minutes would take you to the Ice Age when the lastest technology in some parts of the world was the stone tool.
Another interesting figure is 123 million downloads so far, nearly 2000 times the population of Bermuda.
